The GLPI agent must be installed on all IT devices of TUD, such as PCs, laptops and servers. The inventory of the hardware and software is performed, automatically. Further information can be found on the project website of the IT map.

Installation under Windows

  1. Download of the installer
    from the project website 
    Note: There are two installers to choose from, which differ in configuration. In the case of the installer for IT devices that are frequently used in mobile work, printers and connected USB devices, for example, are not included in the inventory.

  2. Running the installer
    and follow the instructions until the inventory TAG is entered.

  3. Entering the inventory TAG
    to assign the IT device to the respective organisational unit.
    Note: The TAG is an 8-digit number that can be obtained from your IT contact/IT administrator in your organisational unit. If this person is not available, you can contact the Service Desk (servicedesk@tu-dresden.de).

  1. Finish the installation.

After the installation, the inventory of the hardware and software of your IT device will be performed every 24 hours by the GLPI agent, which sends the data to the GLPI server.
