Basically, you can change your password yourself if you still know your current password.

If you no longer know your password, you can have your password reset. You can find more information about this in the FAQ article "Forgotten password". 

In addition to your main password, you can also set a service password for the WLAN service and change it. The procedure for doing this can be found in the FAQ article "Setting and changing the WLAN password".

Step by step

  1. Log in at the  Self-Service Portal at the top right via "Login".

  2. After logging in, select the "ZIH login" item under "IT security, authentification and authorisation".

  3.  Select "Password management" and press the "Change" button in the "Main password" line.

  4. Enter your current main password and the new desired password and then confirm the change with the "Save" button.
    Please note that service passwords must also comply with the ZIH Password Policy, which includes the following rules:

  2. The synchronization of the new main password can take up to an hour, depending on the service. After that, the new password should work everywhere as usual.
