The following instructions describe how to activate a muted microphone on Windows 10:

1. First, right-click on the speaker icon in the bottom left corner of the taskbar.

2. In the menu now appearing click on the option Sounds with the left mouse button.

3. In the sound menu that then opens, click with the left mouse button on the Recording button.

4. Then, in the Recording menu, first select the desired microphone with the left mouse button and then left-click on the Properties option at the bottom right of the menu.

5. Now left-click on the Levels button in the Microphone Properties menu.

6. In the levels menu, click with the left mouse button on the speaker icon with the red sign. When the red sign is no longer displayed, the microphone is activated again.
