The following describes the configuration of Thunderbird using Windows for the integration of the DFN PKI LDAP directory service. 
 

  1. Configure the DFN PKI directory as the new address book. Click "Address Book" in the menu bar.

  1. Once the address book is open, click on File -> New -> "LDAP Directory".

  1. Please enter the following information in the newly opened window and confirm with OK: 
Name DFN PKI LDAP
Server address ldap.pca.dfn.de
Base DN O=DFN-Verein,c=DE
Port number 636
Use encrypted connection Yes, SSL

  1. To use the DFN PKI LDAP directory server with certificates please open the "preferences".

  1. Click the Compose button on the left. Scroll to the "Addressing" tab and activate the DFN PKI LDAP server by selecting it in the "LDAP directory server" field.

  1. Finally you have to select the LDAP directory for the TU Mail account. To do this, go to Tools -> "Account Settings".

Select "Accounts Settings"
  1. Choose under "Compose & Addressing" in the section Addressing, "Use my global LDAP server preferences for this account".

  1. If you want to write a new mail now you can enter terms or persons directly in the address line and you will get the LDAP suggestions.
