The global addressbook in Microsoft Outlook provided by Exchange already contains all TU Dresden certificates. Please configure the LDAP directory only to find certificates of other universities and institutions in the DFN.

The following describes the configuration of Microsoft Outlook using macOS for the integration of the DFN PKI LDAP directory service.

 

  1. Please "right click" on "Account Settings" in your Outlook.

  1. Now click on the "arrow next to the plus sign" at the bottom and select "Directory Service" there.

  1. Please enter now at the server information 

ldap.pca.dfn.de 

in the server information. The port 636 should appear automatically, if not, please adjust it. Also select use SSL to connect and click "Add account".

  1. The DFN directory should now appear as a new account. Now please click on "Advanced..."

  1. After the LDAP search options have opened, please enter your maximum limit of search results (our recommendation is 100). 

As search base should

O=DFN-Verein,C=DE

be entered. The timeout should automatically be set to 60 seconds. You can confirm the settings by clicking "OK".

  1. When you switch back to the Outlook home screen, you can select the "DFN directory" in the "address book" and search for persons or addresses there.

  1. If you want to send new mails the LDAP directory is now also used to search for recipients. You can see this by the "Directory" above the results.
