Setting up a ditributed Mailbox (vpf) in Apple Mail (on iOS and iPadOS)

1. Open "Settings", go to "Apps", and then go to "Mail".

2. Go to "Mail Accounts", then click "Add Account".

   

   

3. Now enter the email address of the distributed mailbox in the format: name-des-vpf@msx.tu-dresden.de and click "Next" (in the upper-right corner).

   

4. Select "Add Other Account" and then "Mail Account".

   

   

5. Enter the following information, then tap "Next":

   • Name: firstname lastname (optional)

   • Email: name-des-vpf@msx.tu-dresden.de 

   • Password: password of your own ZIH login

   • Description: msx.tu-dresden.de (optional)

     

6. Now enter the additional information and confirm by clicking "Next".

   • in the "Incoming Mail Server" section:

     • Host Name: msx.tu-dresden.de

     • Username: user\YourZihLogin\name-des-vpf

     • Password: passwort of your personal ZIH login

   • in the "Outgoing Mail Server" section:

     • Host name: msx.tu-dresden.de

       

7. The information is being verified.

   

8. After clicking "Save", you will see the incoming emails for this distributed mailbox.
