You can access the device settings for audio input and output via the "Settings" cogwheel and the "Audio" sub-item. By default, ringtones and warning tones are output on all available audio output devices. For example, if you are using a monitor with speakers in addition to the headset or if the laptop speakers are switched on, you will hear the ringtone via the monitor or laptop even when the headset is taken off. In addition to the output for ringtones and warnings, you can also select the desired audio output device individually for the speaker and the microphone. You can use the respective "Test" button to check the settings, i.e. whether the ringtones are output as desired or whether the correct speaker or microphone has been selected.
Please note that the settings for quiet hours and do not disturb mode are partially synchronized across all devices used, but unfortunately not consistently at present. It is therefore strongly recommended to completely dispense with the desk phone - it can be returned to the ZIH at any time via the Service Desk - and only work with the WebEx app and no longer with the Cisco user portal. However, if both desk phone and WebEx are used on the PC/laptop and possibly also WebEx on the smartphone, the following procedure is recommended:
If the call notification is to be switched off, this must be set via the WebEx app: Click on the initials at the top left => "Availability" => Activate or deactivate "Do not disturb". (The option "Show availability and status" must first be activated in the WebEx "Settings" under "Privacy"). This availability setting affects all end devices (incl. desk phone and smartphone).
If accessibility/availability should be ensured in mobile work, but the desk phone in the office should not ring, then the volume of the ringing on the phone should be turned down, and ideally
before leaving the office using the volume rocker on the desk phone or
if this has been forgotten, via the Cisco user portal https://voip-settings.zih.tu-dresden.de/ucmuser by clicking on "Phones" => "Phone Settings" => "Filter by" for the respective desk phone => "Ring Settings" => "when I'm on a call" to "Do nothing" or "Flash only". If you want the desk phone to ring again when you return to the office, you must cancel the variant a) or b) used.
If supported, you can use the "Smart audio" sub-item to set finer microphone settings and filter out background noise or optimise for voices.
