Primary e-mail address
The primary e-mail address follows a specific nomenclature that depends on the status of the ZIH login.
Employees and WHK receive:
firstname.lastname@tu-dresden.de
Students, SHK and guests receive:
firstname.lastname@mailbox.tu-dresden.de
If there are several people with the same first and last name at TUD Dresden University of Technology, a number is inserted after the last name, e.g. kim.meier2@mailbox.tu-dresden.de
Anonymous e-mail address
You will also receive an anonymous address that you can use, for example, to register for portals or newsletters.

In the Self-Service Portal profile, navigate to the "E-mail" box. All your e-mail addresses are listed there.
Availability of the email address
A ZIH login (and thus access to the email account) expires upon withdrawal from the university or departure from TUD Dresden University of Technology.
Employees of TUD Dresden University of Technology have the option to set up a forwarding or notification request (instructions) in the Self-Service Portal before the official expiration date of the account.
Once the expiration date has been reached, you will receive a notification from the Service Desk that your ZIH login will be blocked after 12 additional days. This allows you to back up your data before your account is blocked due to deactivation. Your account will be permanently deleted 15 months after deactivation.
