Certificates are added to the certificate store. Expired or revoked certificates remain in the certificate store, e.g. to maintain access to older, encrypted emails. When the computer is set up new or set up again, all previous, old certificates should also be installed.
  1. Install the certificate, with a double click on the file, into the Windows certificate store.

  2. Specify which users are allowed to use the certificate. Confirm the selection with "Next".

  3. Enter the password of the certificate and confirm the entry with "Next".

  4. Specify that the certificate store will be selected automatically and then click "Next".

  5. Finish the certificate import wizard by clicking "Finish".
