In this guide, you will learn how to set up Evolution for Linux for a TU Dresden mailbox. You can then send and receive emails, view the calendar and continue with setting up your personal certificate and encryption.

Start the Evolution program. If the “Welcome” window appears, continue with step 2.
Call up the New menu via the drop-down button. Select the “Email account” entry here.

(You can find your primary email address in the profile of the Self-Service Portal in the “E-mail“ section as “Primary email address”.)
Finally, deactivate the checkbox “Look up mail server details based on the entered e-mail address”.
Then click on “Next”.

Then click on “Finish”. (Your email address is automatically used as the account name).
In the next step “Done”, confirm by clicking on “Apply”.
The “Legitimization request” dialog appears.
Enter your ZIH login in the form “user\<ZIH login>” in the “User name” field.
Enter your ZIH password in the “Password” field.
